Cauliflowers are grown easily from seed, but you may choose to purchase seedlings. Plant them in full sun, about 60cm apart, in mid-to-late Autumn.
Cauliflowers don’t need a lot of soil preparation, but it is recommended that you fork in some compost and chook poo before planting. They do require regular watering, but are reasonably hardy if the weather is dry.
It takes about two weeks from the time the cauliflower appears to when it is ready to harvest. If you cut the cauliflower off cleanly, the plant will often produce more heads before the season is over.
