Parsley is an easy to grow herb and is a great companion plant for vegetables and flowers alike. It can be grown in pots or planted directly into the garden.
You can get a flat leaf (often used in Italian cooking) and curly leaf varieties. (Flat leaf is more heat tolerant than curly).
Parsley grows equally well from seed and seedling. Plant in full sun or partial shade. It likes moist soil. Give it a little fertiliser and mulch around it (not over it) if you see fit.
It is an annual plant, growing from Spring to Winter. It will readily self-seed, and will bolt to seed in extreme heat. It can die off in extreme cold.
Parsley can get a little out of control if left to its own devices, so be sure to thin it out regularly.
