Marjoram (Sweet Marjoram) is related to oregano and can be used in addition to, or as a substitute for it. It’s great for Italian and Mediterranean style cooking.
Marjoram can be grown in pots or planted directly into the garden. It grows from seed or seedling. You can grow it with chilies, capsicums and other herbs.
Plant in full sun or part shade from mid-Spring. It grows pretty much anywhere and can tolerate poor quality soil. It is not fond of extreme cold and will die off if subjected to frosts.
You can start harvesting Marjoram from about ten weeks. It’s best to pick it before it flowers.
