Coriander/Cilantro

Coriander/Cilantro is a popular, aromatic herb, used in Asian cooking. Coriander technically refers to the seed, rather than the whole plant, but in Australia we use the name to describe all parts of the plant.

Coriander grows easily from seed (or seedling but they don’t always transplant well). If allowed to flower, the plants will self-seed.

It can be grown in a garden bed or pot (you can even grow it indoors). It doesn’t really need any special attention or soil preparation.

Coriander grows best in the cooler months, as it can bolt to seed in the hot weather (or if you have an expected heat wave in early spring). You can use all of the plant (including seeds) in cooking.Coria
