Herbs are a wonderful plant. They look great in your garden, make a good additive for green manure/compost, attract bees and discourage pests. Herbs offer ‘a quick win’ in terms of gardening, as they rarely fail. They are great starter plants for adults and children alike.
They can be grown in pots, in garden beds (some can be used as border plants), in window boxes, and some do well indoors.
Some make wonderful culinary additions, and some may be used in herbal remedies.
If you are interested in creating your own herbal remedies I suggest that you enroll in a course and do some research before delving into it. It is very easy to accidentally poison yourself, and its important to remember that just because they are natural doesn’t mean that they are safe. Some herbal remedies can interact negatively with prescription medication, and it is always recommended that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting a course of treatment.
